How Does Playing Word Games Help Me?

Word games and crossword puzzles are a great way to practice your language skills, boost your vocabulary, and elevate your English. Native speakers don't just play them; as language has changed, so have the accepted words in the official dictionaries. The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary by Merriam-Webster has recently included new vocabulary from popular culture, such as TWERK, QAPIK, and YOWZA. BIBIMBAP has been included, as has ARANCINI. As word lists evolve and we begin to take on words from other cultures, our games get more diverse.

There are also some great games for kids out there to improve their academic performance. You can help your children to enhance their reading, writing, and language skills by playing Scrabble and other brain puzzles. The more words they learn, the better equipped they will be in the future. It's also fun to play word games and compete against each other, so it's really a win-win!
